Teams and Captains of League TeamsStarting time for home matches is 7:15 pm in the President's Suite. Longbridge plays in Worcestershire championship League, and Worcestershire Challengers' league, Birmingham & District League Divisions 2 and 4, Dudley & District Divisions 1 and 3, in the 2022-3 season. Chess AcademyThe academy for juniors meets in the President's Suite every Thursday 5pm to 7pm. Juniors under the age of 18 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian unless otherwise agreed upon by prior arrangement. Further InformationThe lounge at the Austin Sports & Social Club serves a full range of alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. However, refreshments are not available and cannot be brought across the road to the President's Suite, but can be consumed in the main bar - particularly the case before and after matches. Junior players are welcome to play in formal matches in the President's Suite Thursday evenings.
The club plays in the Birmingham and District Chess League, and is affiliated to Worcestershire Chess Association where we play one team in each of the two divisions. We also play matches online.
We organise Club Tournaments with trophies and prizes; plus, online Tournaments at chess.com
Membership is open to all players of any age, race, gender or orientation - players of any standard are welcome from beginners to experts. All visitors are welcome to come along for a friendly game.
The Club has access for wheelchair users.
