2014 WinnersOrganiser Andrew Farthing presents prizes to winners: left Jude Lenier Open; centre Armel Collard Major; right John McKeon Intermediate. Pictures: Ray Collett OpenThe winner was Jude Lenier (Hastings) 4½ points. Second prize: Joseph McPhillips (Bolton) 4 points. Four players shared the third prize: MartinCostley (Lewes), Ryszard Maciol (West Bromwich), John Pitcher, and Alan Young (Llanelli, white Knights) 3½ points. Theo Slade (Bude) won the grading prize. Jude, Joseph, and Theo played in the following week's Britsh Championship at Aberystwyth. Brian Turner was the highest placed Worcestershire player and retains the Worcestershire County title. Major (under-160)Armel Collard (Wallington & Carshalton) was outright first on 4½ points. Second prize was shared by James Friar (Hagley) and Alan Papier (Bristol & Clifton) with 3½ points. Daniel Rowan (Banbury) won the grading prize. Intermediate (under-135)John McKeon (Milton Keynes) was first on 4½ points. Second prize was shared by three players: Antony Sage (Bath); Colin Solloway (Milton Keynes); and Ian Truscott (Greenlands) all on 4 points. Eleanor Hapeshi (Wooton Hall Sch, Glos) won the grading prize. Worcestershire's winners receive their prizes from Andrew Farthing: Extreme left, Ian Truscott second equal in the Intermediate; left centre, James Friar shared second prize in Major; right centre David Smith joint first in the Minor; and extreme right Steve Crockett joint first in the Minor. Pictures: Ray Collett Minor (under-115)Steve Crockett and David Smith, both Redditch, shared first place on 4½ points. Third and fourth places were shared by Hazel Welch (Seaton) and Alan Woollaston (South Birmingham) on 4 points. Peter Saunders (Patchway) with 3 points won the grading prize.
