Results for Age Sections Under 7 to Under 11

All the players listed below had scored well in school-level competitions during the Autumn term to qualify for the Megafinal. The Under-7 and Under-8 sections were merged so that those under-7s that scored well this year can expect to do much better next. Peter Mellor (Ladygrove Primary, Telford, Shrops) in the Under-9 Boys; Matthew Hales (St Mary's Primary, Fownhope, Hereford) in the Under-10 Boys; Claire Blakeway (Tenbury Primary, Worcs) in the Under-10 Girls section; and Ieuan Fenton (Dothill Junior Chess Club, Telford, Shrops) in the Under-11 Boys sections had outstanding results winning all of their games. Prizes were presented by Dr John Peters (National Teaching Fellow, University College Worcester) who is a strong county standard player.
