Worcestershire's best placed players just missed out on ultimo titles but still win places in the Challengers tournament. Philp Purcell (K Edward VI Sch Fiveways) in the under-17, James Friar (Hagley HS and Worc Jun Chess Acad) in the under-15 and Matthew Fergusson (K Edward VI Sch Fiveways) in the under-12 were the highest scorers.
Best placed Worcestershire female players were: Tamara Marsden (King's Hawford, Worcester) in the under-7s and Amy Commander (Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Redditch) in the under-10s both of whom scored 3 points.
Thomas and Charlie McClaren (Cheltenham Musketeers), and Aloysius Lip (Warks) who have previously played at Worcestershire Megafinal, but qualified from other megafinals this year also get into the Challengers.
