Information for adults accompanying children

The chess tournament

There will be 6 rounds and all except a few competitors will have 6 games. It is possible that your child may have a ‘bye' or your child's opponent fails to arrive for the game, in which case your child scores a full point. Each game may take up to 40 minutes, but many younger children tend to finish their games much more quickly. If you have to leave early, please let the controller of your child's section know that your child will not be playing in the next round. Controllers have up to 20 minutes after the last game in their section is completed to make the draw for the next round.
